This is the second Sony DE220 CD player I've owned. And the first one is still working fine, despite the years of use and the many drops. I intentionally hunted on the internet to find a second one because my daughter's CD player had given out. The buttons are easy to use and memorize if vision or light is a problem as it is with me. The pause and stop button are the same, but I have always found this a benefit, as I don't accidentally hit stop and lose by place (I listen to books on CD quite a bit). And unlike some goofy designs out now, the battery is changed on the backside of the unit, not on the inside under the CD.
