Got it from eBay for a super-low price. Hookup with the receiver by speaker wire. Can hardly feel its existence but once you mute the subwoofer you will know what is missing. (My mains are already pretty good in low-frequency.) Used the mic to auto-calibrate and the result is great. NOTE: the test tunes are horribly loud! Be careful!
No humming no booming, but I like this low profile response. I might not spend $700 to $1000 on this, but for the price I paid, it's a great bargain.Get more detail about Polk Audio DSW MicroPRO 3000 Subwoofer Speaker (Single, Black).
