I bought this subwoofer as a gift for my husband who is heavily into music, and knows what he likes in his sound quality. He chose it for Polk's great reputation and for its furniture-style cabinet in a woodgrain that coordinates with the furniture in the room. It was easy to hook up. It is hooked into our sound system for the TV and stereo, and we just watched "This Might Get Loud". Wow!
