Bose 901 Direct/Reflecting Speaker System - Black Ash Order Now

I have bose 901 for some time. I heard good things about bose 901 before I decide to have a pair for myself. 901 worked ok with stereo era with limited dynamic range and with 2 channel huge output (200w or more) power amps to drive them. Now my Denon 7.1 HDMI receiver does not have main amp inputs to connect bose equalizer to compensate mono tonic nature of bose 901. It is almost torture to use bose 901 without the bose EQ. Modern receivers do not have much more than 140W/ch, using Bose EQ pushes mordern receiver output to its limit to trigger protection circuit. Because bose EQ increase output of low and high end of sound spectrum to compensate for its inefficiency on low and high end sound frequency. My sons hip-hop music with wide dynamic range can trigger my receiver speaker protection circuit on moderate volume levels. It also amplify low frequency rumbling noise on my powered sub woofers.
It was good rocking speaker in good old days with good old stereo systems.I am with my new Ohm Walsh speaker which is huge improvement over Bose 901 IMO. My 901 is just collecting dust in the basement. Get more detail about Bose 901 Direct/Reflecting Speaker System - Black Ash.
